강이 더러워저서 새들이 사라져 가고 있다.

Haven't posted here in a while, and haven't really needed to. But, there's something about this sentence that I can't quite get right. Any help would be appreciated, if anyone is active anymore.

더러워저서 Arrow 더러워져서
this sentence just means (loosely translated):
because the river has become dirty (i.e. polluted) the birds are disappearing.
사라지다=없어지다=disappear
if i missed something or didn't explain very well, let me know and i'll try to do a better job.

OK, thanks. The bird part was what confused me. Plus I thought the book wouldn't bring up pollution off the bat.

keep in mind that 더럽다 doesn't mean pollution, just dirty. I just added pollution to make my translation a little more specific. Because really, when you say the river is dirty, don't you really mean, the river is polluted? Anyway, just want to make sure i'm not leading you astray.
