Every year for the past ten years, I've said "I want to study Japanese." When it will happen, I'm not really sure, but when I finally do sign up for a class, I have a question that maybe some of you can answer.

What is the best Japanese forum on the internet? I mean, I could do a Google search and find 10, sure, but which one is, from your personal experiences, the best?

Please take a moment to visit my Korea website (seldom updated these days)

...and my site on Taiwan, where I am living right now!

To tell you the truth, I haven't found a single decent one yet either. I'm tempted to make one, but I'm not very HTML savvy.

I found an interesting blog that you might be interested in. It's about learning kanji, but it's focused more on intermediate level, rather than beginners.

If you find a forum that looks decent (no ASL!), please share. Provided that your recent experience hasn't turned you off from Japanese culture.

Oh man, I don't even want to get started on my recent experience. However, I still want to learn Japanese.

Does anyone know of a book similar to Korean Essential Vocabulary 6000 for Japanese, you know, a book with several thousand words ranked by frequency, with nice, concise definitions (not pointlessly long ones like "ȯ°©: the 60th anniversary of one's birth")?
