help, im confused

just need help, im confused with my feelings right now.

i have a girlfriend, she's been my girlfriend for one and a half years. and i can say is that for the past one and a half years, our relationship is not that good. because we fight a lot, often times our fights ended but the problem was not solved and this will cause for another fight. i always ask myself if she is the one that im gonna spend the rest of my life with will our live be happy? then a few weeks back, i saw this girl, then i felt something that i havent felt a long time ago. she's korean. and i felt something for her. the sad part is i havent met her and we havent talked. she never knew me. i know it sounds cheesy and corny and maybe childish but i liked her a lot. also, the BIGGEST PROBLEM is she's an actress in Korea. and i'm just a nobody. I really liked her so much that i started learning korean language. and knowing korean history and cultures. But one day i wondered if what im dreaming can really happen. i i can really meet and talk to her. then i started thinking my girlfriend, i for the past weeks i became cold to her. i felt guilty. So i tried to make things work out for us and kept in my mind that what i dreamt before is IMPOSSIBLE. but everytime i see her in the big screen or in the tube, i cant help my feelings, and everytime i felt that way i suddenly loose my interest with my girlfriend.

so i'm hoping if someone could help me figure out what to do. this may sound cheesy but i think im falling for this Korean girl which most of you might think IMPOSSIBLE to work out. should i break up with my girlfriend since we always have fights for the same old problem and the spark between us is fading.

My vote is in that you should break up with your current girlfriend. It sounds like that relationship is causing you a lot more pain than it's worth. If this were a marriage, you would have to try to save it, but unlike a marriage, there is no shared money, property, or children. It sounds like you aren't really interested in your old girlfriend anymore. You mentioned fighting, and do any of us really have time in our lives to be fighting extensively with someone all the time?

Now, as for the Korean actress girl, I don't know anything about her. You stated that she doesn't know you, but do you know her from an activity that you both did, or that kind of thing? Or do you just know her from watching the tube? If it's the latter, well, do I even need to say what your chances are with her? If it's the former, keep this in mind: there are lots of actresses in the world, and not all of them are famous or earners of multi-million dollar incomes. This is true in Korea, as well as any country. How do I know? Because at large events, Hong Soo Entertainment goes around handing out flyers that essentially say "want to be an actor in a Korean drama or movie?" There's a telephone number, you go in and act, and you make about $20, so I've heard. They've offered me the chance to be an "actor," and they've offered friends of mine the chance to be "actors." So is she small-time, like that, or has she actually played a major role in a real movie, with lines?

Your chances with that girl are probably extremely small no matter what, unless you're really good-looking or have a ton of money (as for the latter: I hate how the world works). I can't argue with any force that makes people want to learn the Korean language and learn about Korean culture, though, because that's what I do. I'll admit, the thought of having a girlfriend (but not a wife Shocked

) as gorgeous as one of the ones in the dramas (or even one of the ones on the 지하철) keeps me motivated, sometimes.

thanks for the advise, i came to know her via the tube only, and i think she's really a big time actress since i saw an interview on her once and many students or shall i say fans were screaming and wathcing her. same with you, it also keeps me motivated, but the thought of the impossibility of not being with her makes me sad, thanks anyway for your suggestion and encouragement.

You are not infatuated with that girl, you are infatuated with her image. You need to leave your girlfriend, but stay away from worshipping the golden calf.

I'm serious, like, literally right across the street. She goes to 성균관대학교, and I'm in 명륜동/혜화. Oh man, I'm smitten. Well, fortunately, tomorrow, the magic will fade, and I can go back to thinking like a normal human being, pursuing girls more in my capacity...until I accidently see her while crossing the street or something. Man, gotta move out of 명륜동...
